Terms and end-user license agreement (EULA)

This is a courtesy translation. The Spanish version is the legally binding one.
1. Parties and acceptance
This agreement is between Jesús Osvaldo Ramírez Guzmán, an individual doing business as RaOs Software (the "Owner"), and the individual or entity that installs or uses Edit and Save PDF (the "User"). By installing, activating or using the software, the User accepts these terms. If you don't agree, don't install or use it.
2. License
The Owner grants the User a non-exclusive, non-transferable license, revocable on breach, to install and use Edit and Save PDF on the number of computers covered by the purchased plan: one per license. The software is licensed, not sold. The license is activated with a key that is tied to the computer where it is activated and validated offline, so it can't be revoked remotely. Moving to another computer: email support with the new computer's ID and we'll issue a new key.
If the User gets the software from Microsoft Store, purchase, license, refunds and updates are also governed by Microsoft Store terms. A license obtained in one channel (Microsoft Store or this site) isn't valid in the other.
These terms cover the Windows program. The Android app is bought on Google Play, is a separate purchase and is also governed by Google Play's terms.
3. Trial
The software may be used with every feature for 7 days free of charge. After that, without an active license, the software can still open, view, search, copy text and print; editing, saving, signing and OCR require a license. The User's files are never altered or locked.
4. Restrictions
Except as expressly permitted by law, the User may not: (a) copy, distribute, rent, sublicense or resell the software or its license keys; (b) decompile, disassemble or reverse engineer it; (c) circumvent activation or trial mechanisms; (d) use it for unlawful purposes.
5. Purchase, price and taxes
Licenses are sold through Lemon Squeezy, acting as reseller and merchant of record: it processes payment, collects applicable taxes and issues the receipt. For now we don't issue Mexican tax invoices (CFDI).
6. Updates and support
Support is provided by email at soporte@editandsavepdf.com. The Owner may modify, improve or retire features in future versions.
7. The User's responsibility for documents
The User is solely responsible for the content of processed documents and their use. Before sharing a redacted, cleaned, signed or protected document, the User must review the result and keep a copy of the original. The digital signature doesn't validate the certificate's issuer or add third-party timestamps; the User must confirm the signature meets the requirements of its intended use.
8. Warranty
The Owner warrants that the software works substantially as described on the website. If it doesn't, the User may request support or a refund under the refund policy. Otherwise, to the extent permitted by law, the software is provided "as is".
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, the Owner isn't liable for indirect damages, lost profits, data loss or damages arising from the content of the User's documents, and total liability won't exceed the amount paid for the license. Nothing here limits consumer rights under Mexico's Federal Consumer Protection Law.
10. Termination
The license ends if the User breaches these terms or if the purchase is refunded, and the User must then stop using the license key.
11. Privacy
Personal data is handled under the privacy notice.
12. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the federal laws of the United Mexican States. For their interpretation and enforcement, the parties submit to the competent courts of Mexico, without prejudice to consumer rights before the Federal Consumer Protection Agency (PROFECO).
13. Trademarks
Edit and Save PDF is a trademark of RaOs Software. Microsoft, Windows and Microsoft Store are trademarks of Microsoft Corporation. Other trademarks belong to their owners.
